DD, AIR plans to cover border areas terrestrially

NEW DELHI: All areas uncovered by terrestrial transmitters in border areas along with the rest of the country have been provided with multichannel television coverage through Doordarshan's free-to-air direct-to-home platform DD Direct Plus which can be received anywhere in the country with small sized dish receiver units. However, All India Radio and DD terrestrial coverage in the border areas in Jammu and Kashmir is being strengthened with an outlay of Rs 1 billion in the 11th Plan.

YRF files FIR against ICC, BCCI, MCA for copyright infringement

MUMBAI: Yash Raj Films (YRF) has lodged an FIR against ICC, BCCI and MCA officials for infringement of copyright of their songs during World Cup matches. Haroon Lorgat (ICC Chief Executive), Dheeraj Malhotra (ICC joint secretary), Ratnakar Shetty (BCCI CAO), Hemant Waingankar and Lalchand Rajput (MCA joint secretaries) were among the officials against whom the complaint was registered under section 63 and 69 of Copyright Act,  the official told PTI.

Philips initiates interactive music contest with Metropole Orchestra

MUMBAI: To promote its new campaign 'Obsessed with Sound', Philips has also initiated a contest where unheard artiste will get an opportunity to record a track with Grammy Award winning Metropole Orchestra.
