read moreMUMBAI: The National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) had filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against YouTube in 2007, and has now finally reached a settlement with video-sharing site on Wednesday 17 August. According to the settlement, NMPA, its subsidiary Harry Fox Agency (HFA) and music publishers affiliated with HFA will be able to license their musical compositions to YouTube community and will receive royalties from YouTube for the musical works in videos posted on the site. The complete terms of the agreement is not disclosed.

The company has posted a net profit of Rs 25.5 million for the first quarter of the fiscal compared to Rs 4.2 million a year ago. The company has reported net sales of Rs 154.9 million for the quarter, up from Rs 133.3 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, while its income from licence fees was at Rs 164 million, up from Rs 129.8 million a year ago.
