RAM Week 38: Radio City makes strides in Delhi, Bangalore

MUMBAI: Week 38 saw Radio City in top form as the station made significant gains in Delhi and added a few points in Bangalore, while maintaining status quo in Mumbai. Otherwise, the week was a mixed bag for most stations. After a good performance last week, Fever lost ground this week in Bangalore and Delhi but gained points in Kolkata and Mumbai. Big FM, which inched forward in Kolkata and remained static in Mumbai, lost marginally in Bangalore and Delhi. Similarly, Radio Mirchi too gained in two cities (Kolkata and Mumbai) but lost marginally in two (Bangalore and Delhi).

Bangalore - After making strides last week, leader Big FM lost 0.2 points in week 38 with a market share of 19.4 per cent. Radio Mirchi also slipped in the city losing 0.3 points to end with a share of 17.4 per cent. After a consistent good performance in the past few weeks, Fever lost a high 0.4 points in the city for a market share of 15.2 per cent. Radio City was one of the few stations managed to up its ante. The station gained 0.2 points to end the week at 12.8 per cent. AIR FM Rainbow also lost 0.1 to keep 9.3 per cent of the market share. Red FM led the battle for the sixth position in week 38 as it added an impressive 0.3 points to its kitty to end with a share of 8.6 per cent followed by Radio One which lost 0.1 point to end with a share of 8.3 per cent.

Delhi - Radio Mirchi lost 0.2 points in the city though it maintained its numero uno position in the city. The station ended the week with a market share of 24.4 per cent  At second spot Fever also slipped with a tiny margin of 0.1 point to end with a share of 18.7 per cent. AIR FM Gold lost significant 0.6 points to end with a 17.2 per cent market share. Red FM maintained status quo at 9.7 per cent. Radio City inched forward to grab the fifth spot pushing Big FM behind. City added a significant 0.7 points to end with a share of 8.7 per cent. Big FM at sixth position lost 0.1 point to end with a market share of 7.4 per cent. After losing heavily last week, Radio One gained 0.4 points in week 38 to end with a market share of 5.4 per cent. Meow FM also added 0.2 points to end with a share of 2.5 per cent.

Kolkata - Leader Radio Mirchi added 0.1 points to end the week with a share of 20.3 per cent  Both Big FM and Friends FM garnered 0.1 point to end the week with a market share of 17.4 and 11.7 per cent respectively. Aamar FM was static at 10.8 per cent. At fifth spot, Red FM gained 0.1 point to close with a market share of 8.9 per cent. Fever FM also inched forward to gain 0.2 points and end the week at 8.7 per cent. Radio One maintained status quo at 6.1 per cent. Meow FM lost 0.2 points to keep a 4.7 per cent.

Mumbai - Radio Mirchi gained 0.1 point to end the week at 17.4 per cent. At second spot, Red FM lost 0.1 point in week 38 to end with a share of 13.5 per cent. Both Radio City and Big FM remained fixed at 13.4 and 11.8 per cent respectively. AIR FM Gold gained 0.6 points in the city and captured the fifth spot. The station ended the week with a market share of 11.6 per cent jumping ahead of Fever which gained 0.2 points but had to be content with 11.5 per cent market share. It will be interesting to see he race for the fifth spot next week. After a good run last week, Radio One lost a minor 0.1 point this week for a share of 6.4 per cent.
