MTV Unplugged gives freedom to do your stuff: KK

MUMBAI: 'Khuda Jaane' how many songs he is yet to sing to make our hearts go 'Laapata' for him. He was the one who called his beloved wife Jyoti, 'O Humdum Soniyo Re' and expressed his love singing, 'Tu Hi Mere Shab Hai'. By now you must have already guessed the name of the mesmerizing vocalist we are hinting at. No prizes for guessing. Yes, it is Krishnakumar Kunnath, better known as KK.
As the singer gears up for the third season of MTV Unplugged, he explains how he has enjoyed his stint. In a candid chat with Radioandmusic.com's Dhairya Ingle, he revealed, "I wanted to do Unplugged for a couple of seasons now but unfortunately, it just didn't work out. It's every musician's dream, since it just gives you an opportunity to be the way you are. There is no technology which is assisting you. It is your own judgment of the song. The platform gives you the freedom to do your own stuff."
To name a few, KK performed the songs like Beete Lamhe, Oh Meri Jan, Pyar Ke Pal. He has been with Coke Studio in the last season and coming back to MTV makes him happy since they give him the creative freedom he prefers.
Apart from singing selective songs, KK is known for living in his own bubble. "I want to live a stress-free life and that's the reason I do fewer songs. For me, inner peace is important and I have found that. Quantity does not matter to me much. Each song I do should be a part of my life. I do not want to do projects just for the heck of it." The 45 year old singer loves to go for long drives, watches movies. He is one person who gets very bored with routine and just cannot stand monotony.
"Mostly I am chilling at home. I am a homeboy. Once I am home it is very difficult to get me out of my place," he admitted.
