BAJAAO achieves target of 50 shows over 3 months with Phoenix Malls

MUMBAI: BAJAAO Music Pvt. Ltd (BMPL) has successfully hosted 50 shows, featuring a variety of indie bands, over a period of three months at the two Phoenix Malls in Mumbai as part of a strategic tie-up with them.

A division of BAJAAO Consulting and Events Pvt. Ltd., BMPL organised shows at the High Street Phoenix Mills in Lower Parel and Phoenix Market City in Kurla, which saw people of all ages flocking to the performances. Having been an established property at the High Street Phoenix for four years, the Thursday Jam Ups were programmed by BMPL, as were the Smashing Saturdays at the Phoenix Market City which began in November 2013. BAJAAO will also bring two emerging rock bands every week at each of the venues.

Speaking on the association, Ashutosh Pande, Founder-CEO, BAJAAO commented: “When it comes to putting together a show we look for the most dynamic performers & talented artistes to grace the stage. We also look at getting bands which are new and upcoming as this will definitely help build their fan base. A venue like Phoenix is ideal in the formative years of musicians. A lot of learning is derived by musicians since this is a very unique experience much different from the regular venues. It a great place to connect with your audience and spread awareness about your brand of music.”

High Street Phoenix has been seeing performances every Thursday by BAJAAO while Phoenix Market City has been seeing them every Saturday. Many artistes have performed under this partnership at the Phoenix Mall including names like BLAKC, Spud in the Box, Koniac Net, The Lightyears Explode, Ravi Iyer and Workshop, all of who play a set for approximately an hour and these gigs start early evening from 6.30 pm and go on till 10 pm.

In addition to the tie-up, BAJAAO will bring two upcoming rock bands every week who will continue to showcase their musical talents to a crowd of spirited and enthusiastic mall-goers.

With an objective of providing a platform for upcoming bands to prove their mettle in Mumbai, BAJAAO has undertaken this initiative with Phoenix which has witnessed some cutting edge acts over the past 3 months.

Looking to build on the success of the last three months, BAJAAO has lined up some key bands in the near future that will provide the best entertainment to their guests. Some of the artistes we can expect to see over the next few weeks include Nandoo Bhende, Unohu, Laxmi Bomb etc. The Live Band Music element just adds to a memorable feeling to complete the perfect shopping experience.

BCEPL, Bajaao’s events division, has handled a number of other events like JD Rock Awards, International Jazz Festival, Ragasthan, Red Bull Tour Bus & brands like Superdry, Diesel, Converse etc. BCEPL was also behind the entire event at Phoenix Mall right from artiste management to sound production. BAJAAO has a specialised ear to the ground and is continuously on the lookout for new talent & opportunities to set the stage for music in India.
