MUST Radio plans four new shows for May and June
MUMBAI: In the span of two months, Mumbai University's Community Radio (CR) station- MUST Radio will unveil four new programmes. The production of the shows is on and will be out in the month of May and June.
MUST Radio was a part of the first batch of an experimental program 'Radio Mathematics', and is looking forward for a second phase of the show which will commence from June. The other shows that MUST Radio is working on are 'Yaha Ke Hum Sikander', 'Gandi Baat' and 'Trafffice Jam- an impending disaster'. Speaking to Radioandmusic.com, MUST head Pankaj Athavale said, "For the next two months, we are concentrating on these programs apart from Radio Mathematics." Radio Mathematics was a project started last February at Jadavpur University, IIT Kanpur, Mumbai University and S Lakshmipathy College of Science. The project focussed on the various usage of Maths in daily lives and has received good responses because of its appealing programming method.
The three new weekly shows which will start from 1 May will deal with common problems in the community. 'Trafffice Jam- an impending disaster' showcases traffic as a big issue, nothing less than a disaster and will have direct input from the community.
The second show 'Gandi baat' deals with issue related to garbage around the University campus.
The third programme 'Yaha Ke Hum Sikander', will exhibit stories of common people who have been living in the area and will talk about their professional journey, lives and changes around them. These shows will be pre recorded and repeated throughout the week.
Apart from the shows that are under production, he mentioned about an on ground activity with the NGO 'Salaam Bombay' which will take place next month.
Athavale said, "Right now, exams are on in the university, so we are waiting for it to be over before we start the campaign." It will be one-day anti-smoking campaign.
Currently, the CR is creating awareness on radio about the need to vote and various other elements in elections. The promo campaign started in the month of March and will continue till 23 April.
