Arko : Sonu Nigam was the best amongst all other singers for 'Dildara'
MUMBAI: After the remake of the old hit song - 'Aaj Phir Tumpe' for the film 'Hate Story 2', composer Arko Mukherjee is on cloud nine. The composer does not wish to be known in the industry for repacking the old hits. Recently, Arko composed a song, 'Dildara' for the movie 'Tamanchey' produced by Suryaveer Singh Bhullar and Nikhil Dwivedi. The vocals of the song are rendered by Sonu Nigam.
Talking about how he ended up with the project, Arko said, "I knew Nikhil and Suryaveer as we did a film together which entered into post production but, somehow the movie got shelved. So, since then we had decided that we had to do a film together. And both the producers told me that I had to compose one song."
The music for the film was composed even before he directed for 'Yaariyan' and 'Hate Story 2'. The producers gave him a free hand when it came to composing. All he was told was that it is a romantic track.
There were a lot of singers who sung the track but they could not get the proper feel required for the song. "After a lot of singers singing the track, I approached Sonu Nigam and we recorded the song twice as he was not satisfied with his voice when he recorded the song the first time. Sonu was the best amongst all the other singers who sung the track," Arko exclaimed.
His upcoming projects include a song in Akshay Kumar starrer 'Shaukeen', 'Tina and Lolo' and many more.
