MUMBAI: EMI is appointing Elio Leoni Sceti from Reckitt Benckiser as chief executive to run its recorded music division says a Times Online report. Sceti has spent 16 years with Reckitt. He was promoted two years ago to the role of executive vice president for Europe, after serving in various marketing roles and as general manager for Germany and Italy. Sceti has a strong background in marketing honed at Procter & Gamble in Italy and France. Sceti has been handling brands such as Cillit Bang, Veet hair remover and Finish dishwasher tablets.

MUMBAI: Pop singer Neha Bhasin is ready to launch her multi-genre album in the coming few months. It is a commercial album, says Bhasin. "I don't think an artist should limit herself by singing in a particular genre. So, I believe in a multi-genre which has a better commercial value."

Davie, who was earlier director of marketing, communications and audiences, will replace Jenny Abramsky in September, according to a report in the Marketing Week. It is the first time the BBC has brought someone into a programming role directly from a marketing background. He will oversee the broadcaster's radio networks including its digital radio stations, the report says.

The music of Singh is Kinng comes packed with anticipations, courtesy its far flung promotions. A major portion of the music is westernised. Music director Pritam Chakravorthy has mainly dug into the English style of music, inclusive of rapping and bit of rock. However appealing the music may be, bits and pieces are a straight cut-copy-paste job from some of Pritam's earlier work, which leave the listener disappointed.

The companies did not disclose terms of the agreement. The report also stated that EMI Music Publishing has withdrawn as a party to the complaint filed by certain music publishing companies against XM in March 2007.

The evening was ushered in by the film's producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, director Anees Bazmee, music director Pritam, and the star cast of the film - Katrina Kaif, Suno Sood, Neha Dhupia, Javed Jaffery, Om Puri and Sudhanshu Pandey.
