T-Series files FIR against Ramgopal Varma

MUMBAI: Music major T-Series has hit back at filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma by filing an FIR against him in Delhi, accusing him of fraud and criminal breach of trust, the latest in a long chain of claims and counter claims that both have been involved in for the last few months.

Nadeem-Shravan to compose for Bhagnanis next

MUMBAI: Musical duo Nadeem-Shravan has been roped in to score the music for Vashu Bhagnanis next. The film will be directed by David Dhawan, and will star Govinda. The film will hit the floors soon, say industry sources.The two were recently turned down by Vishesh Films for the sequel of Raaz, music for which had been composed by them. Pritam has now been finalised for the same. Talking about the music for Bhagnanis film, Shravan says, We are elated. Since the film features Govinda, the music will be chirpy and peppy. Soon we will start work on it.

Mirchi Movies signs on Aadesh for Hari Puttar

MUMBAI: Times Groups subsidiary Mirchi Movies live action film Hari Puttar has signed on music composer Aadesh Shrivastav. The film has 85 minutes of live action and four minutes of animation, and is scheduled for a mid-2008 release.She title track of the film is being choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. Ace singer Shaan and long lost vocalist Neha Bhasin who shot to fame with Channel V's Popstars will be heard crooning together. Says Mirchi Movies COO Munish Puri, Its an ambitious project for us. Hence the music is well spent on. We are gung-ho about the title track.

'Hijack' as the main lead for a promotional song. The song introduces the characters in the movie and was shot at Poison in Mumbai last week. Hijack is a high paced action thriller presented by Eros entertainment, produced under Aleya motion magic and is ad filmmaker Kunal Shivdasani's debut film as director.

Eddy Tan is Channel [V] VP, programming

MUMBAI: Pan-Asian broadcaster Star has appointed Eddy Tan as VP (programming) of Channel [V]. Based in Hong Kong, Tan will officially join on 31 March and report to Star Entertainment president Todd Lituchy. In his new role, Tan will oversee the programming development of Channel [V] International, while also working with other Channel [V] properties in Asia on cross-channel initiatives including concerts, events and acquisitions.

Sun TVs SFM to launch in Allahabad, Jabalpur

MUMBAI: Sun TV Network, through its subsidiary South Asia FM, is launching two FM stations under the brand name SFM. SFM is launching in Allahabad on 18 March and on 19 March in Jabalpur. This will take the total number of Sun's stations to 27 across the country.
