MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta quits

MUMBAI: The digital space is abuzz with MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta quitting the organization in less than a year after joining. The reason for his resignation is not known. He will now be replaced by Mike Jones and Jason Hirschorn, who joined the company in April last year and have been serving as chief operating officer and chief product officer respectively. The new developement is likely to shock observers as Owen Van Natta had the challenge of turning round the fortunes of MySpace while it faced tough competition on the webspace from Facebook and Twitter

Gangubai Hangal Gurukul to be ready by April

MUMBAI: A unique gurukul named in the memory of the doyen of Indian classical music, Gangubai Hangal, is likely to see the light of the day in her hometown Hubli in Karnataka this April, says a PTI report. "Almost 85 per cent of the construction work of the five-acre complex has been completed," says the late Gangubai's grandson Manoj Hangal. The gurukul will train students under the ancient 'guru-shishya parampara'. It will also provide stipend, boarding and lodging to the students.

Salim-Sulaiman to compose for YRF's next

MUMBAI: Music director duo Salim Sulaiman are all set to compose for Yash Raj Films'  untitled next, starring Anushka Sharma and newbie Ranveer Singh. Says Salim Merchant, "There are eight songs in the film. Currently, we are recording only the third one so it is too premature to give further details." The composer duo have already had two releases this year with Yash Raj's last venture Pyaar Impossible staring Priyanka Chopra and Teen Patti staring Amitabh Bachchan, Ben Kingsley and R Madhavan.

Airtel, Reliance Comm to launch mobile application store

MUMBAI: Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communication, two of India's top telecom operators are planning to launch an online mobile application store opening up a new revenue stream from add-on services such as music and social networking. While Bharti Airtel launched Airtel App Central, RCom said it will introduce the first version of its mobile applications store under the Reliance Applications Store label, in the country by the end of the month.

Gyan Vani rolls out six new stations

Five nations to play tunes in the first Military Music Fest
