Rahman's next Jai Ho for PM's relief fund

MUMBAI: After mesmerizing his hometown Chennai, A.R Rahman will perform at the GMR Arena, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Complex in Hyderabad 24 October, 2009. Like all his other concerts, this too will be a charity concert. The net proceeds from the Hyderabad concert will be donated to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for providing assistance to flood victims.

Centre committed to strengthened Radio & TV reach in border areas: Soni

MUMBAI: Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni has said that the government will soon amend the Press and Registration of Books Act (PRB) 1867 on a larger scale as the existing provisions of the Act are inadequate to cater to the phenomenal growth of the print media in view of the liberalisation of the government policies.

Disney to premier 'High School Musical 3' this Diwali

Ambika Soni proposes via media for news on FM

New Delhi: Even as radio broadcasters are pressing for allowing news, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry is still unwilling to permit private FM channels to broadcast news despite recommendations by (TRAI) Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and FICCI  However, Ministry sources said I&B Ministry Ambika Soni feels that a via media should be found where the channels can be permitted to broadcast some programmes other than just playing music

MTV drops 'Music Television' tag

MUMBAI: In a move  to introuduce new programming concepts, MTV India, the music channel owned by Viacom 18,  is planning to expand its horizon by exploring other platforms of media including web, mobile and voice portal. The music channel has also dropped â€?Music Television' from under its logo that has been around since 1981 since it launched in the U.S. Channel officials announced the details of the refurbished MTV in Mumbai on Monday afternoon.
