BBC World Service Trust rolls out FM radio drama series in India

MUMBAI: BBC World Service Trust in India will roll out a FM radio drama series in Hindi titled Life Gulmohar Style, designed to promote gender equality and empowerment of women on 7 October. The 156 episodes radio drama will broadcast on five of All India Radio's FM Rainbow stations including those from Delhi, Mumbai, Jalandhar, Lucknow and Kanpur every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7.30-7.45 pm.

Lucky Ali opts for digital release for Xsuie

MUMBAI: There's a chance that you might not be aware of Lucky Ali's new album Xsuie unless you follow his official page on Facebook. The album release is digital and kept relatively low profile compared to his previous releases. Though the album comes after five long years, the �time gap' is something Ali doesn't like to believe in, I just didn't feel like coming with an album all this while,... he says. I-Rock Day 2 turnout impressive despite Mumbai rains

Bangalore's Inner Sanctum wins I-Rock XXIV

Mumbai: Bangalore based metal band Inner Sanctum were announced as the winners of Independence Rock XXIV on October 3, 2009 at the finale held in Mumbai. Inner Sanctum competed against Gravy Theory (Kolkata), Abraxas (Pune), Seize Her (Delhi) and Zygnema(Mumbai). Google tech driven Hero phone is Gadget of the Year

MUMBAI: Handset manufacturer HTC's Hero phone which uses technology developed by internet giant Google has been voted as the gadget of the year in the 2009 Stuff gadget Award. The phone, which has a five megapixel camera and a 3.2in screen, uses the Android operating system that allows users to access emails, the internet and texts easily. Fraser Macdonald, one of the judges at the 2009 Stuff Gadget Awards, said, ''With the HTC Hero, we've finally got a phone that fully exploits the potential of the Android OS to be as clever and as sexy as the iPhone.''
