Mirchi Bangalore turns two, revamps programming

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi Bangalore has re-invented itself with a new image, new sound and fresh programming as part of its second anniversary. Sandalwood music, which has seen a revival in Bangalore in recent days, is also at the core of Mirchi's revamped programming.According to Mirchi's Cluster Programming Head, Karnataka and Kerala Jimmy Xavier, "Sandalwood music is seeing a revival with many influences as reflected in some of today's hits like Jinkey Mari Na (Nanda Loves Nandita), Ba malaya ba (Accident), Kaddalu manasanna (Mussanje Maathu) etc.

Red FM to push sales for Kolkata based Aamar FM

MUMBAI: The Hitz FM Radio India promoted Aamar FM 106.2 has joined hands with Red FM for promoting sales. When contacted, Aamar FMs Amit Kasuri confirms, It is a strategic merger that we have planned with Red FM to acquire greater market share in terms of advertisement.According to Red FM COO Abraham Thomas, Aamar FM had tied up with Red FMs sales team in Mumbai and Delhi and would be promoting them to acquire national ads. Meet Brothers launch music company

MUMBAI: Pop singers Manmeet and Harmeet Singh, popularly known as the "Meet Brothers" have launched their own music company, Meet Bros Music Company. The company's debut album is titled "Neha the Rockstar" and features Neha Kakkar, last seen on television in the talent hunt Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar.The music company's initial investment is stated to be between five to 10 million rupees and is open to outside funding, say the brothers. "The main objective is to build a brand name and establish it," they add.

Radio One launches in Pune

MUMBAI: Radio One has launched its sixth radio station in the country, in Pune on 12 May. The station has positioned itself with the tagline 'kuch naya sunno yaar'. RJ Sangram would be hosting the breakfast show for the city.Radio One plans to stand out from the existing stations in the city by playing only Bollywood songs. The core audience of the station is in the age group of 20-30 years, in a city known increasingly for its BPO and IT culture.

De Taali launches music under T-Series

MUMBAI: The music of E Niwas' De Taali was launched in Mumbai on 12 May under the T-Series banner. The music of the album is directed by the duo Vishal Shekhar. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalist Raja Hassan will be lending his voice for the first time as a playback singer with 'Maari theethdi' which is a Rajasthani folk song in the album.Channel V VJ Anushka Manchanda (who sang the title track of Golmaal ) will also be lending her voice for the songs in this album.
