Mahindra Comviva claims multi fold increase to African operators

MUMBAI:  Mahindra Comviva is expanding its mobile music offerings in Africa. It claims that operators in Africa have witnessed more than fourfold increase in their music services penetration and subscriber base and multi fold increase in their music revenues, using its digital services. Govt rules out any separate authority to monitor FM Radio services

NEW DELHI: The government has categorically said that it does not intend to set up a separate authority to review the performance of FM radio services. However, Parliament was told that the contents of the channels are being monitored by the Broadcast Engineering Consultants (India) Limited (BECIL), and the channels agree to adhere by the Programme and Advertising Codes when they enter into agreements to set up new channels.

FB reports strong Q1 result on mobile ads growth

MUMBAI: Internet social networking site Facebook has posted strong results for its Q1 buoyed largely contributed by mobile advertisement revenues. The company said it earned $219 million for the quarter, up from $205 million, a year earlier. Revenue increased to $1.46 billion from $ 1.06 billion. The company’s advertising revenue surged 43 per cent compared with the same quarter last year to $ 1.25 billion. Mobile advertising accounted for 30 percent of the company’s total ad revenue.
